Megaliths of Continental Europe

Megaliths of Continental Europe

Maps of my decipherment of the megaliths of
Germany and Italy are found in two directories, Germany and Italy
at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LexiLine/files

Since these graphics are in color, the .gifs are of poorer quality,
so please look at the .tifs for quality versions of each picture.
The files are

germany.gif
and
germany.tif
and

italy.gif
and
italy.tif
[.tifs are viewable e.g. with QuickTime]

Please be aware that these decipherments are pioneering efforts and
that there is not the certainty here that exists for my decipherment
of Scotland and England, which I consider to be quite accurate.
Fixed island systems are easier than the continent, where borders
could theoretically have been set just about anywhere in ancient
days. In addition, the sites in Ancient Britain have been far better
maintained than elsewhere.

GERMANY

Germany shows clear evidence of a large system of geodetic
astronomical measure.

One system is a larger territory with the center at the Externsteine
(southeast of Bielefeld on your maps), with the Gollenstein in
Saarland (near Blieskastel) as Hydra in the South and the
Schalenstein in Schleswig-Holstein (near Bunsoh and Albersdorf) as
Scorpio in the North. These two identifications are quite clear. The
rest of the sites then can be fitted into this system. This system
e.g. seems to show the ancient border between the Germanic speakers
and French speakers to have run through the middle of Belgium -
where the site of Weris marks Virgo - but this result must
be regarded as provisional, since there are still many, many sites
in continental Europe and Germany to be examined. I have certain
identification of only a few of these.

ITALY

Italy has been a tough nut to crack, in spite of the fact that
Enrico Calzolari - with whom I regularly correspond - some years ago
established that megaliths in the La Spezia area of Liguria, Italy
seemed to represent the shape of Cassiopeia (see the corresponding
LexiLine page). This proved a difficult clue, until I added sites on
Corsica (as the phallic North Ecliptic Pole - i.e. the point of
creation of the sky) and Sardinia (the Pole Star) to the picture.
Then continental Italy fell into place as being marked primarily by
the constellations along the Milky Way, represented by the
APPENNINES (= Latvian PIENU celsh = "Milky Way").

The Chianca Dolmen and megalithic sites in the region of Bisceglie
and Molfetta as marking Canis Major (CHIANCA = CANIS) I regard to be
solid. The same is true for Cassiopeia and the sites around La
Spezia.

Also solid in my opinon is Paestum (ancient Poseidonia, south of
Naples, Ischia and Capri) which according to local legend was built
by Jason and the Argonauts. I can confirm - based on my analysis of
megalithic sites - that this legend is true. Neolithic artifacts
have been found in this region. This region (Basilicata as a
province) represents the hole in the Milky Way to the left of Sirius
which the ancients regarded as the Cosmic Egg, for which reason this
site is associated with fertility. It is comparable to the
astronomical position of "the Face" in the constellational system in
evidence at Kents Cavern in England. We also see this same Cosmic Egg in the
Planisphere from the White sea.

Still, my identifications of regions (provinces) of Italy with
constellations is in part based on the alleged system found and not
solely through concrete megalithic sites which I have deciphered.

For example, I first predicted - based on the system found - that
the Italian province Piedmont must have represented Cygnus - and
then found only later at La Bessa (a gigantic site which I decipher
as a vast earthworked mural and which I did not even know existed
previously) that this might be true. The same holds for the
identification of La Marche as the Pleiades. The name fits to
ancient names for the Pleiades and there are Neolithic caves there,
but I have found nothing megalithic yet with the Pleiades depicted.
I presume the caves will ultimately give us an answer.

I will be referring to many files in the future showing decipherments
of various sites in Germany and Italy. There may be corrections and
additions in the course of time, so do not regard my decipherments
of Germany and Italy as final in any way. All of my work is just the
beginning of a very long journey back into time - we are the first
moderns to make this journey.

BELGIUM, NETHERLANDS, LUXEMBOURG = BENELUX

The ancient site of Weris in Belgium (ca. 3000 BC) will
also be presented in the future. There will also be
interesting material relating to Luxembourg: a gigantic stone in
Germany at Niederburg (Bollendorf) and the Ferschweiler Plateau,
marking the ancient border to Luxembourg. The Netherlands also have
many megaliths to examine.

I could use a staff of about 100 and a budget of many millions of
dollars a year to do this work properly. Any sponsors out there? :-)

Both book volumes contain the following basic book description:
"Alice Cunningham Fletcher observed in her 1902 publication in the American Anthropologist
that there is ample evidence that some ancient cultures in Native America, e.g. the Pawnee in Nebraska,
geographically located their villages according to patterns seen in stars of the heavens.
See Alice C. Fletcher, Star Cult Among the Pawnee--A Preliminary Report,
    American Anthropologist, 4, 730-736, 1902.
    Ralph N. Buckstaff wrote:
"These Indians recognized the constellations as we do, also the important stars,
drawing them according to their magnitude.
The groups were placed with a great deal of thought and care and show long study.
    ... They were keen observers....
The Pawnee Indians must have had a knowledge of astronomy comparable to that of the early white men."
See Ralph N. Buckstaff, Stars and Constellations of a Pawnee Sky Map,
    American Anthropologist, Vol. 29, Nr. 2, April-June 1927, pp. 279-285, 1927.
In our book, we take these observations one level further
and show that megalithic sites and petroglyphic rock carving and pictographic rock art in Native America,
together with mounds and earthworks, were made to represent territorial geographic landmarks
placed according to the stars of the sky using the ready map of the starry sky
in the hermetic tradition, "as above, so below".
That mirror image of the heavens on terrestrial land is the "Sky Earth" of Native America,
whose "rock stars" are the real stars of the heavens, "immortalized" by rock art petroglyphs, pictographs,
cave paintings, earthworks and mounds of various kinds (stone, earth, shells) on our Earth.
These landmarks were placed systematically in North America, Central America (Meso-America) and South America
and can to a large degree be reconstructed as the Sky Earth of Native America."
